Ramsay Taum

Ramsay Taum is Director of External Relations and Community Partnerships at the University of Hawai’i School of Travel Industry Management (TIM) where he lectures on host cultural values in the work place.  He graduated from the Kamehameha Schools, attended the US Air Force Academy and earned a BS degree in Public Administration at the University of Southern California.
 
Mentored by respected Hawaiian elders, Ramsay actively promotes environmental education and sustainability based on Native Hawaiian ahupua’a management principles.  A practitioner and instructor of several Native Hawaiian disciplines, he is a recognized cultural specialist who works with Hawaii’s development, travel, leisure and retail industries integrating Native Hawaiian cultural values and principles into contemporary business.
 
He is founder and President of the Life Enhancement Institute (LEI) of the Pacific, co-executive director of Sustain Hawaii, directs operations at the Hawaii Nature Center on Oahu, and serves on numerous local, State and national boards, advisory groups and councils.
