Mawae Morton

Mawae Morton is Senior Vice President, Planning and Development, Hawai`i BioEnergy (HBE), and part of a team that has been evaluating renewable energy technologies and implementation opportunities in Hawai`i.  The other partners in HBE are Grove Farm, Maui Land and Pineapple Company, Khosla Ventures, Pierre Omidyar and Finistere Ventures.  Mr. Morton serves as the Strategic Resources Manager with Kamehameha Schools (KS), a US$9 billion education endowment and largest private land owner in Hawai`i.  He is a co-director of the First Nations’ Futures Program, a partnership developed between KS, Stanford University and Maori groups from New Zealand/Aotearoa.  Mr Morton was appointed to the Transportation Working Group of the Hawai`i Clean Energy Initiative. Prior to joining KS, Mr Morton was with Bearing Point / KPMG Consulting as a senior strategy consultant; served in senior policy positions within the New Zealand government; and has held directorships in the private sector.  Mr. Morton has degrees from Massey University and Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand.
