Douglas Schmidt

 

Mr. Schmidt is an entrepreneur and philanthropist.  He is involved with many start-up companies in healthcare, technology, media and telecom and advises several Wall Street firms.  Additionally, he is a film and television producer, most notably with the Magic Tent, which is the first indigenous children's television program for the Indian Sub-continent developed by the creative team from the Muppets, Sesame Street, and Dr. Suess.  Mr. Schmidt sits on the board of the Good Deed Foundation, which is focused on creating sustainable funding for non-profits focused on climate change and poverty (www.gooddeedfoundation.org).  He has spent 15 years on Wall Street as an analyst, chief operating officer, director of equity sales, and institutional salesman with Merrill Lynch, Furman Selz and ING Barings.  Mr. Schmidt received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
