Diane Ley
Diane Ley is the Deputy Director of the County of Hawai`i’s Department of Research and Development and is the department’s Acting Energy Coordinator. Diane currently serves as the Hawai`i Island member of the Hawai`i Board of Agriculture and the Secretary of the Agricultural Leadership Foundation of Hawai`i.
Diane previously held the position of Deputy to the Chairperson of the Hawai`i Board of Agriculture and served as an administrative assistant with the Hawai`i Farm Bureau Federation and the Hilo Main Street Program. She worked as a legislative assistant to the Hawai`i County Council and operated a vegetable farm in Volcano.
Diane has extensive background in state and county legislative and administrative processes and in development of rural communities. She is trained in whole systems, facilitation and strategic planning and uses this knowledge and skill sets to bring together communities to seek appropriate solutions and opportunities to foster balanced natural and built environments.
