Chelsea Chee

Chelsea Chee is a Dine woman from Cedar Springs, Arizona.  Her concern and respect for the environment was established early on through traditional Dine teachings and continued through contemporary teachings at the University of Arizona.  Both assisted her in receiving a Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Science.  Chelsea continues to practice those teachings through her work with Black Mesa Water Coalition.  Black Mesa is a non-profit organization working on energy and water issues on the Hopi and Navajo reservations.  As part of their youth program, the Coalition runs the Campus Climate Challenge Campaign, a nation-wide campaign created to leverage the power of young people on school campuses to win 100% clean energy policies at their schools and move for a just and sustainable future.  Chelsea intertwines her traditional and contemporary teachings to help Native students create innovative solutions to combat climate change.
